Dusty Snoeberg-Renwick spent her early career inside the agency that regulates the organizations she now advises. As an FDA investigator, she conducted pre-approval and cGMP inspections of pharmaceutical manufacturers, inspections of medical device operations, and GCP inspections in the clinical research setting.

Experience within FDA

Working as an FDA pharmaceutical and medical device investigator meant evaluating quality systems, manufacturing operations, laboratories and clinical studies against what the regulations require — and observing, repeatedly, the difference between organizations that understood those requirements and organizations that had built elaborate systems around a misreading of them.

That perspective is the foundation of the firm. When an investigator asks a question during an inspection, there is a reason behind the question. Knowing the reason changes how a company prepares, how it documents its decisions and how it responds.

Establishing xFDA Investigators

Dusty established xFDA Investigators in 2004 to give regulated organizations access to that perspective directly. What began as individual consulting has grown into a network of former FDA professionals and experienced industry specialists assembled around the needs of each client engagement.

She continues to lead client work personally, particularly quality system assessments and remediation programs, and she remains the first point of contact for organizations trying to determine what kind of help they actually need.

Dusty's central conviction is straightforward: regulatory systems should be compliant and robust without becoming unnecessarily complicated. She has seen many organizations struggle under procedures more demanding than the regulations themselves — procedures that create findings rather than prevent them.
